Does Microsoft Work For Mac Do Autosave

We have had issues with out autosave functionality when the file location is set to the default location. It saves deep within the libary/containers.so on. We have found though that this can be hit or miss of actually autosaving the files as we have had multiple peoples office crash and lose all their work (they should have saved but they didn't) and it not show up in the autosave default location.

AutoSave is a different feature which automatically saves your file as you work - just like if you save the file manually - so that you don't have to worry about saving on the go. On the Mac, AutoSave is available in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for Office 365 subscribers.

However we do find that if the default file location is changed to documents or something other than deep within the library folder it works more consistently. I have tried searching to figure out which.plist file stores the preference for default file location for autosave to no avail.

We are looking for a command we can run such as 'default write com.microsoft.word.plist change autosave location to username/documents' essentially so we can push to all of our macs through our MDM solution. Thanks for any wisdom anyone has! Hi, Please do the following steps to change where to automatically save files 1.On the Word menu, click Preferences. 2.Under Personal Settings, click File Locations. 3.Under File locations, click AutoRecover files, and then click Modify. 4.Find the location where you want to automatically save files, and then click Choose. In Office 2011 for Mac, the AutoRecover file is located at /Users/ username/Library/Application Support/ Microsoft/Office/Office 2011 AutoRecovery.

In Office 2016, The location it saves to is: ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word/Data/Library/Preferences/AutoRecovery/ Regards, Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help.
