I have an Office Home and Student 2016 version for Mac, bought from a vendor. I recently updated it after which I was asked to activate it again. When I tried to activate, I am being told that the email is not associated with any Microsoft account. However, on the my account page on Microsoft website, I can see an Office Home and Student 2016 listed. Later, I realised that the product key on My Accounts page is different from the product key I got from the vendor.

I tried activating with the product key on the My Accounts page, and it asked me to set up key at office.com/setupkey, which is basically going back to where I began. When I use the product key from the vendor, it says the product key has already been used. Unable to activate the software.
