The normal approach now is to not bother paying extra for the backup disk. There is no need to waste you money on the disk. When you do you install you have the option of saving the download to the HD, before running it. That way you have the 'online' installer file. It is smaller and requires an internet connection to do the install. Or you can go to the MyAccount page, dig down and download the 'Offline' installer.
