Apple Mail Vs Outlook 2016 For Mac
Aug 11, 2015 - Outlook is slow and confusing on the Mac, as is OWA on iOS. I'm amazed how many people don't use Apple's Mail and Calendar clients,.
Email, whether work-related or personal, is something we all do. And Apple’s default email client, while decent, isn’t exactly the most compelling software available for iPhone and iPad. Find my mac for business. Day in day out we find ourselves getting frustrated with certain elements of email in Apple’s Mail app, so we thought, to HELL with it, let’s get another, bespoke, third-party client installed and see if it can become our daily driver. And then we ended up testing a whole bunch, which you can read all about below. It is worth noting that Apple DID make a lot of improvements to its Mail app inside iOS 8 and iOS 9, adding in new smart folders and gestures for marking your emails.
It is better, sure, but it’s still not great. And once you’ve seen what’s possible with the myriad alternatives available inside the App Store, well, chances are, like us, you’ll never look back. These email apps – listed in alphabetical order – are the best third-party email apps according to my polling of friends, colleagues, and scouring the web for reviews. Like Apple’s Mail app, none of these are one-size-fits-all, but if you don’t like the default iOS Mail app, you’re sure to find a suitable replacement below. (£3.99) Yeah, it’s expensive, but Boxer is one of the most feature-rich email apps I’ve found. Boxer supports all major email providers including Microsoft Exchange (ActiveSync), Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, AOL, Outlook.com/Hotmail, and IMAP.
But the real reason it’s so cool is because of features like Cloud File Integration, or the ability to attach a photo or add a file from Box or Dropbox when you compose a message; a wide array of swipe actions to archive, delete, or mark emails; assignable profile photos for people who send you emails; the ability to “like” messages, which will notify the sender you received it; HTML signatures; Evernote integration; smart folders, and more. (free) CloudMagic provides a unified inbox for all your email accounts including Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, Google Apps, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, AOL and other IMAP accounts. I’m a big fan of its flat design and its easy setup process. Another really nice thing is that it’s got full integration with Salesforce.com, Zendesk, Pocket, Evernote, OneNote, Trello and MailChimp so you can perform quick actions on your email right from the app. (£4.99) Dispatch has a lot of the same features as other apps on this list: support for myriad email accounts, swippable gestures, etc. But the real beauty of this app is its Snippets feature.
A “Snippet” is a frequently used reply to common queries you get. Dispatch lets you save these Snippets so you can reuse them the next time you get a similar question.
The app also has heavy three-party app integration so you can quickly perform tasks on your email with apps like 1Password, 2 Days, Appigo Todo, Asana, Chrome, Clear, Dolphin Browser, Drafts, Droplr, Fantastical, Finish, Google Maps, Google Translate, HockeyApp, Instapaper, Message, Pocket, Readability, Reminder, Safari, Skype, and The Hit List. (free) For whatever reason, the default Mail app doesn’t work well with Gmail. I’ll leave that up to you to decide if this is done purposely as a rub on Apple’s part or if Gmail's servers are just needlessly complex and hard to work with. But if you’re a big Gmail user you’re going to want to download this official Gmail client from Google. Google’s brand new email application, titled Inbox, launched awhile ago and is now available on both Android and iOS. Inbox aims to cut the crap and focus on what’s most important to you. The application puts a variety of features and tools at your finger tips in order to do this, which are summarised below: • BUNDLES - Similar messages are bundled together so you can deal with them all at once. And get rid of them with one tap.
• HIGHLIGHTS - Get the most important information without even opening the message. Check-in for flights, see shipping information for purchases, and view photos from friends right up front. • REMINDERS: More than mail, you can add Reminders so your inbox contains all the things you need to get back to. • SNOOZE: Snooze emails and Reminders to come back when you are ready to deal with them: next week, when you get home, or whenever you choose. • SEARCH: Inbox helps you find exactly what you’re looking for— from your upcoming flight to a friend's address— without having to dig through messages. • WORKS WITH GMAIL: Inbox is built by the Gmail team, so all your messages from Gmail are here, along with the reliability and spam protection of Gmail. All of your messages are still in Gmail and always will be.
